My name is Lizzie Honold, and I am a Junior at Villa Maria Academy High School. For the past three years, Villa’s Student Integrity Committee has partnered with CTC to host an event called Reindeer Games. I have had the privilege of volunteering at this event each year and eventually taking on a role in planning it.

The goal of Reindeer Games is to spread Christmas joy to families in our local community who have a family member who has been diagnosed with cancer. CTC’s mission of focusing on supporting the entire family is the essence of our event which seeks to unite participants under one shared love: the Christmas season. The incredible work that CTC does has inspired me to find creative ways to support those around me.

Our committee loves organizing this event, and is so happy we can provide a meaningful experience for so many families year after year. We enjoy planning themed activities, including cookie decorating, Christmas caroling, and a festive holiday fashion show, to name a few. For me personally, the most rewarding moment is seeing the kids’ smiles when they walk in and see Santa.

CTC has built such a wonderful community, and we have been so lucky to be able to meet so many of those individuals through this event. We look forward to continuing this tradition in December 2025 and partnering with CTC again!
