Recently, I had the pleasure of joining a few workshops organized by CTC, a fantastic local organization that was recommended to me by someone in my metastatic breast cancer support group. She mentioned a wreath-making class in December, and I thought, Wow, that sounds like a perfect way to get off the couch and do something fun for myself!
The CTC members who led the workshop were warm and welcoming, and the small group of women who attended shared some of the same challenges I face with cancer. But the day wasn’t focused on our struggles—it was about getting creative and enjoying some much-needed “me” time. And let’s be honest, we all need that!
The experience turned out to be incredibly healing. I left with a beautiful wreath that hung proudly on my door throughout the winter—a constant reminder of that positive, joyful day.
While at the workshop, I also learned about the inspiring origins of CTC and gained a deep admiration for the incredible women behind the organization. They dedicate their time and energy to supporting so many different families, which is truly remarkable.
Since then, I’ve attended a few more workshops. It’s been wonderful reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new ones along the way. Now, I’m excited to see what other fun opportunities await me in the future!
