Dr Helm is a licensed physical therapist\, researcher and faculty member at Widener University providing education in oncology.  \n\nWhen chemotherapy damages peripheral nerves\, it is called chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy\, or CIPN. Symptoms of CIPN can vary from sensation changes and pain or numbness to weakness in the hands and feet that impact how you perform your daily activities.
